Piano Cake

It was my 19th birthday a few weeks ago. I have always wanted a piano shaped cake so.. it happened this year!





Mum made the base, which was sponge with bailey's custard, maltesers and cherry ripe. I coated it in ganache, and did all the chocolate decorations. The head chef got a little carried away and piped some caramel on there too :D

It's so lovely and adorable!
When I think of "piano cake" I think of that monstrosity on ace of cakes, this looks 10x more edible and fantastic.

That is the coolest thing I've ever seen. As a gal with a music degree who loves to sing (and plays a little, teeny bit of piano and some violin), I totally want one! (But I am simply not ambitious enough to do it for myself. *chuckles*)

So pretty. I especially love the detail of the sheet music.

That is super beautiful *-* I really like the gold brushed on the chocolate making it feel more like wood grain and the tiny flowers and notes are a super cute touch ^__^
