Orange Cinnamon Crisps

So realizing that there were no sweets in the house, I decided to whip up a quick batch of cookies. Orange Cinnamon Crisps not only smell great when they're cooking, but they are delicious. They're crispy but not brittle, and the best way to describe them would be 'orange with a kick'. So if you want something a bit different, I suggest you give these bad boys a try.

These sound really good and I think I can handle the USian measurements but I do have a question. Shortening isn't available in Australia so could you suggest a suitable substitute - I usually use butter in all my baking, would that do?

These are pretty much like Snickerdoodles, so if you have a favourite Snickerdoodle recipe all you need to do is add the Orange zest and replace the vanilla with Orange juice, you'd accomplish the same thing.

Try this one: http://www.joyofbaking.com/Snickerdoodles.html

Hope this helps!

Snickerdoodles are also something not found in Australia so I've never seen/had them before. Thanks for the recipe, I'll have a go.

I just checked my Betty Crocker cookbook substitution chart, and monkey_chakra is right, you can substitute the shortening with butter.
