Hi bakers, I have a question about apple sauce. I used to live in a country where I had easy access to American-style apple sauce, but now that I've moved to England this is nowhere to be found (or would probably be incredibly expensive if I did find some). This is unfortunate as a lot of recipes, particularly quasi-healthy ones, seem to call for this ingredient.
So I'm wondering: Is there a widely-available replacement for apple sauce? Or is apple sauce replacing something like oil which I could add instead (and undermine the healthiness)? Failing that, does anyone have any fairly simple recipes for making your own?
