Hey guys, just rejoined the whole LJ community, but with the Holidays
coming up I thought I'd post one of my favorites and share it
with you all. I have a couple family members that are gluten intolerant
so most of them are incapable of having most desserts that people make,
but I found this recipe a couple months ago and at this point
I've had multiple friends and coworkers begging me to bake them
their own. In any case, image:

Okay, so you're going to need:
6 Large Eggs, Separated
10 Tablespoons Butter, Salted
1 Jar of Nutella
3 Bags of Hazelnuts(Filberts)(3 bags is just a guideline, I only used
about 2 and a half total, but they're tasty just by themselves.
So don't worry if you have some left over. They're an
awesome snack.)
1 Bag of Dark Chocolate Chips
1) Preheat oven to 350 degrees
2)Chop your hazelnuts or grind them, size is to your preference, but I preferred mine pretty bitty.
3)Whisk your Egg Whites for about 2 Minutes
4)In another bowl, mix the butter and Nutella with an electric mixer(would
be a giant pain w/o but still doable). After its well mixed, add the egg
yolks and ground hazelnut( I only used about one and a half bags for
the cake and one more for the topping later).
5)Melt 3/4 of the bag of chocolate chips(about 100 Grams) and fold that into the mix. You can
make a topping with the left over chips later.
6)Slowly fold in your egg whites. About 1/3 of them at a time.
7)Pour into a greased and lined 23 cm Spring Form Pan.
8)Bake for about 40 minutes
Now you'll want to let it cool for about an hour before you remove it from the pan. Place
it on a wire rack to cool completely. Once completely cooled, frost with your favorite frosting recipe(personally I go for something fudgy each
time. Spread the rest of your ground hazelnuts over the top. Melt the rest of your dark chocolate chips and mix with a
tablespoon of butter. Put in a zip lock bag and cut a hole in one end so you can spritz it and voila! You're all done! Enjoy the deliciousness!

EDIT: I see you do mention grams for the chips later in the recipe--thanks--but still wondering about the nuts.

I've made this kind of cake a few times, but sometimes I lose patience and just attacked the Nutella with a spoon.
For this recipe in particular you only need 100 grams of dark chocolate. As for the hazelnuts I've only ever been able to find one size and I add them mostly for texture, but about 8 oz should do you. Five in the cake and then as much as you like on the top, I used about 2 for the topping.
13 Oz Jar of Nutella.
Sorry again, I'll be more specific in any future posts.
