Hi everybody! I'm trying to fulfill the many requests I've gotten for the holidays for these chocolate chip cookies. However, I'm a big doofus who's never just printed out the recipe for myself, always going off the website. But now, when I visit the page, the actual recipe seems to be gone! I'm desperate to get this recipe back; am I lucky enough that someone out there may have a copy?

It looks like you're wanting one of David Lebovitz’s cookie recipes...most likely the one from Ready For Dessert, which is an EXCELLENT cookbook for sweet things (I encourage you to get a copy!). In the meantime, I found the recipe transcribed here: http://www.seriouseats.com/recipes/2010/04/david-lebovitzs-chocolate-chip-cookies-recipe.html

The bake5 cookies look quite different from the seriouseats cookies, but after poking around on the bake5 site I'm pretty convinced that this is the recipe you want. Do you remember forming logs and slicing off pieces? I think individual variations on method probably have more to do with that then a change in the recipe. If you have a lot of chocolate 'dust' from chopping your chocolate and you incorporate that, you're going to get darker, chocolaty-er cookies, and if you allow the cookie rounds to warm a little before they go in the oven, they're going to spread more than if you put them in frozen or directly from the fridge.

Here's a picture of them by the guy himself: http://www.davidlebovitz.com/2010/05/chocolate-chip-cookies-ready-for-dessert/
