the best chocolate cupcakes!!

these cupcakes are my favourite goodies to bake!
i baked and decorated these cupcakes this past weekend for my niece's 3rd birthday party.
this recipe in particular is the best chocolate cupcakes i've ever had!! so yummy. enjoy!

& just for fun... entitled: don't eat me. :)

chocolate cupcakes.
2 cups (500 mL) all-purpose flour
2 cups (500mL) sugar
1/2 cup (125mL) cocoa powder
2 teaspoons (10mL) baking soda
1 tsp (5mL) baking powder
1/2 tsp (2 mL) salt
1 cup (250 mL) vegetable oil
2 eggs
2 cups (500 mL) of butter milk
2 teaspoons (10 mL) vanilla

preheat oven to 350 degrees (180 degrees Celsius).

in mixer, on low speed, mix together flour, sugar, cocoa powder and salt.
add oil, eggs, buttermilk and vanilla.
increase speed and beat for 2 minutes, until well combined.
spoon into 20 paper-lined muffin cups, filling halfway.

bake for about 25 minutes or until tops are firm and tester comes out clean.
transfer to rack and cool completely.

i think i did come across buttermilk before.
you're from sg right- eh from your lj?

i think i saw it at carrefour @ PS if i'm not wrong.
or you can try the coldstorage at 6th avenue?they've got a greater variety of stuff.

Hey, thanks for the heads up! I'll be sure to look it up the next time I'm at Carrefour or 6th Avenue and buy in bulk. Haha. Will let you know if I found it. =)

hey dear, not sure if there are other brands apart from Dairy Farmers in sg, but they normally expire in a few weeks. anw pls lmk if you come across any other brands of btutermilk! thanks!

Oh, hi! It's been such a long time since that comment. Lol.

Actually, I've been using a buttermilk substitute: 1 cup of milk to 1 tbsp of vinegar and let rest for 20 mins or so.

It works for me! =)

hey! some NTUCs (cheaper) and most cold storage stock buttermilk $3+/600mL from Dairy Farmers. It's normally near the cheese section!
