How to: Absolute Best Nutella Brownies

Brownies. Well, everyone has their favourite recipe.
But I just discovered my absolute fav & promptly chucked my old recipe in the trash!

You start with 1 stick of butter + 1/2 C of Natural Cocoa powder.
Zap it in the microwave for 1 minute.

Whisk like mad.
When its nice & smooth, add 3/4 C sugar + 1/2 C Nutella + 3 oz Melted dark chocolate.

Whisk in 2 eggs. Sift together 1/2 C flour + 1/2 t salt.

Dump the flour mixture over the chocolate mix & fold gently with a rubber spatula.
Fold in chocolate chips/chunks/chopped nuts. Pour into 8x8 inch pan.
Bake at 350F for 20-25 min.

Cool & slice into bars.

What did you pour/drizzle over the top of the brownies - chocolate syrup?

Its Home-made Chocolate Sauce with Kahlua.
I added replaced part of the sugar + water with light corn syrup for an added shine/gloss. (:

This sounds delicious, and I like how clearly you explained everything! I'm easily confused when baking so very clear directions help a lot :)

What are these like? From the pictures, the brownies look cake-y. How are they???

Hmmm.. definitely not a cake-y brownie. It is really chocolatty & moist. Not dense at all but rather, an almost 'melt-in-your mouth' kinda texture when eaten warm.
You can even swirl in some additional nutella into the batter before baking(: (:

Little t for teaspoon big T for tablespoon.

Its 1/2 teaspoon of salt.
I used fine sea salt, which is a little less salty than regular table salt. (:

If I don't have a microwave, is it okay if I just left the butter at room temperature? Or maybe heat over water or something? XD

The butter has to be melted, so you could do it on the stove. No need to be heated over water. Just make sure it doesn't burn!

These sound amazing. How do you think an equal part of peanut butter would work mixed into the batter? I'd probably take out the salt, too, since that might make it a little too salty?

I just tried this recipe and it came out of the oven still wet, not moist, just liquid. I bake a LOT so it's not my oven and double checked the recipe and ingredients. The only thing I could think of: is there supposed to be baking powder or baking soda?

In the directions, when you mention 1/2 C , you mean half cup right ?
